Public Private Partnerships, or PPP projects, are the solution for cities’ and municipalities’ construction projects. By allocating the responsibility for a project, it is possible to reach an affordable solution from the customer’s point of view. The PPP scheme stresses partnership and the lifecycle thinking that is an essential part of NCC’s business.
Finland’s first real estate sector Public Private Partnership was the Kuninkaantie Senior Secondary School and Sports Centre in Espoo, implemented by NCC. The joint venture established for the project was in charge of real estate design and construction, and will remain in charge of maintenance and user services for the first twenty-five years of the property’s lifecycle.
Commitment to a site for decades requires maintaining the buildings and roads in impeccable condition and offering high-quality services. Ekokonsepti, NCC’s progressive lifecycle computation method, enables the implementation of such long-term projects.
