AN OFFICE TO SUIT THE ESTEEMED BRAND

Visitors to Oy BMW Suomi Ab, located at NCC’s Airport Plaza Business Park, will probably notice the splendid building already before they board the elevators. The stylish lobby is  crowned by a brand-new BMW 635d Coupe.
BMW Group invests in high quality in all their global vehicle business market areas. “Our attitude towards quality is demanding at all stages, from product development to production and from training to marketing,” Kupila says.

“Offices play an important role in brand business. When our offices comply with our brand, we are also sending a message to our dealers.”

Top premises for training
BMW has almost a thousand square metres of offices in the Allegro Building of Plaza. Furthermore, the neighbouring building Vivace includes technical training facilities customised for BMW. “The fact that our technical facilities could be implemented greatly influenced our decision to move. Thanks to NCC’s flexible services, we now have a top-notch training centre in our sector,” Kupila praises NCC. Building the training centre was a demanding job requiring several technical solutions, vehicle cranes and exhaust gas removal systems. NCC design engineers visited the BMW Group Head Office in Munich to study the solutions needed. “The training centre is widely used. We mostly train technical personnel, but also some salespersons. There are approximately 2,000 man-hours worth of training days per year. The neighbouring countries also use our training centre.”

Communications developed
A significant part of BMW moving to the new premises was the replacement of the traditional ”a separate office for each” system with an open plan office.
“An open plan office is modern. After initial adjustments, all our employees now think that the open plan office improves the company’s internal communications,” Kupila says.
“The office has also further improved the job satisfaction of our personnel and team spirit. The office is easy to reach from all around the world, the airport is not far away and all services are available close by. The facilities are also flexible, which is important in the case of organisational changes.”
