Swedish department store chain Biltema is expanding its operations at a commercial property developed by NCC at Renkomäki in Lahti.

The Renkomäki retail park has a total of 16,000 m² of retail premises for leasing. In addition to Biltema, 2-5 other retailers will be coming to the centre.
- The Biltema store is being built first and the shops of the other retailers in stages afterwards. Biltema serves as a great anchor, and I believe that soon we will also be able to announce the other retailers. It will be possible to build some of the retail park’s stores on two levels, says Jari Harapainen, Project Manager at NCC Property Development Oy.
NCC has also built stores for Biltema in Jyväskylä, Raisio, Lappeenranta and Kuopio.
- The Lahti region is a significant market area, where there is great demand for Biltema. The attractive Renkomäki retail area was our first choice. We already have an excellent history of setting up our stores together with NCC, says Tommy Dolivo, Country Manager at Biltema Suomi Oy.
The new store is the chain’s 12th in Finland, and will cover an area of about 4,500 m². It will be officially opened in summer 2012.
Biltema’s product range includes tools, building equipment, car accessories, bicycles and leisure goods. The chain’s other stores are located in Espoo, Helsinki, Jyväskylä, Kaarina, Kempele, Kokkola, Tampere, Lappeenranta, Raisio and Kuopio.
