The NCC Green environmental seminar was opened by Timo U. Korhonen, President of NCC Construction. Mika Pantzar, academy and futures researcher from Aalto University, explained consumer behaviour, Pekka Tuomaala, researcher from VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland talked about the challenges to the construction industry, while Harri Savolainen and Tero Estovirta from NCC presented what NCC has already done in the matter. The subject raised active debate, which was monitored by Ilkka Alvoittu from Optiplan.

Even though the constructed environment significantly contributes to energy consumption, other perspectives were also found.

Saara Kankaanrinta, Secretary General of the Baltic Sea Action Group (BSAG), talked about the activities of the group and thanked NCC for its support. BSAG is a foundation founded by Ilkka Herlin, which aims for prompt practical measures to save the Baltic Sea.

Seija Lukkala, the Managing Director of Globe Hope, then talked about how she came to establish a company with recycled materials as business idea.  Globe Hope implements an ecological lifestyle in a fun, fresh and positive way.
