Green Building project of NCC and Lemminkäinen

The Castor building is to be constructed in accordance with the EU’s GreenBuilding criteria, which means 25% less energy consumption compared to an equivalent new office building. In addition, the European BREEAM environmental certificate will be sought for the building as a testimony of its environmentally friendly construction.

Two buildings have been completed in Polaris Business Park, Vega and Capella. The third building, Castor, should be completed in February 2011.

The parties have signed a preliminary agreement for the sale of Polaris Castor to IVG, which owns the first two buildings in Polaris.

- There is demand for new offices. Companies are looking to make their operations more effective and to display their environmental responsibility. The leasing rate of the first buildings is good and the first leases have already been signed for Castor as well. Therefore, we have good grounds for starting construction, says Marjaana Meriläinen, Project Manager from NCC.

Castor will have approximately 6,000 m2 of office space which can be tailored into offices of various sizes in accordance with the needs of the company, starting from one hundred square meters to even the entire building.
