The third stage of Plaza business park

NCC is launching the third stage of the Plaza Business Park project in the Aviapolis, Vantaa, which comprises five office buildings and a carpark. The project focused on new-era working environments, and is one of the most significant construction projects in the Helsinki Metropolitan Area, as well as being and a bold response to the current recession in the construction business.

NCC started the construction of Aviapolis in 2000: Plaza 1 was completed in 2002 and Plaza 2 in 2009. When completed, the Plaza Business Park will comprise 13 office buildings, and be one of the largest business parks in Europe.

The new office buildings of the Plaza 3 in Aviapolis follow the NCC Business Parks concept, which aims to offer companies of various sizes the best possible facilities for making a profit. In the Plaza 3, special attention has been paid to the future challenges of work: rapidly developing technology, globalisation and wellbeing at work. The fourth generation business facilities provide the employees of customer companies with more inspiration, meeting places, ecology and modern virtual solutions.

“Technologisation changes work. Team work will become more common and people will work less at their own workstations. In design, this means different grouping of the space and utilisation of virtuality. The future work environment will also emphasise wellbeing at work as more and more companies realise that employee satisfaction is an important success factor. A new business facility is part of the strategic policy of the customer's business activities. Finland’s first commercial office site with the energy class rating A

NCC Property Development is the first company in Finland to receive the status of EU’s GreenBuilding Partner and in its activities it complies with the international BREEAM environmental assessment method. Green development work will be continued during the NCC Green Working project.
“In future, NCC aims to design all its developer-contracted facility projects in accordance with the energy efficiency rating A. The third stage of Plaza will be the first commercial site complying with the requirements of Energy Class A.

The first office building of the third stage of Plaza will be completed in the beginning of  2011. Companies basing their operations in its facilities will give a boost to the business community in Vantaa and already at its construction stage it will be an important employer in the area. Even the names of the buildings – Pilke (glimmer), Hehku (glow), Loiste (lustre), Tuike (twinkle) and Halo – signal the arrival of a new brighter era.
